The forum was conceived by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee and organised  in Venice, at  the UNESCO Office in Venice – Regional Bureau for Science in Europe (ROSTE), Palazzo Zorzi, on 7 – 8 June 2005; in collaboration with UNESCO Office in Venice – Regional Bureau for Science in Europe (ROSTE); with the patronage of CEI-Central European Initiative and Regione del Veneto; supported by CEI-Central European Initiative; Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia; BEBA Foundation Venice
