On Saturday, September 27 at 6 pm, Trieste Contemporanea will host an event curated by RAVE East Village Artist Residency, dedicated to artistic practices that question our relationship with non-human animals.

The encounter will be introduced by artist and RAVE co-founder Tiziana Pers, and will begin with the screening of the video Ingresso Animali Vivi (2023, 14’30”) by Igor Grubić, featured in the group exhibition Why Look at Animals? A Case for the Rights of Non-Human Lives, curated by Katerina Gregos at EMΣT – National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens.
The event will continue with a conversation between Grubić and Adriana Rispoli, art historian and curator at Palazzo Diedo, Berggruen Arts & Culture, Venice, accompanied by the screening of the second video by the artist Fur and Fashion (2005) which reflects his deep sensitivity toward the treatment of other species.
The second part of the evening will be led by Katerina Gregos, Director of EMΣT, who—starting from Grubić’s projects—will present the exhibition Why Look at Animals?, the most extensive and significant show ever dedicated to antispeciesism and animal rights within a museum context.
