I WILL BUY MY FREEDOM WHEN is the first Italian show by Selma Selman, artist and performer who won the 2017 Young European Artist Trieste Contemporanea Award.  The opportunity to think to an original exhibition project is offered to the artist by this award, reserved by Trieste Contemporanea to young artists from Central Eastern Europe aged under 30.  The curator of the award’s exhibition is Daniele Capra.
On the occasion of the opening, the artist will propose the performance SUPERPOSITION, in which she will subject her body to contradicting identities and functions.

Selma Selman,of Roma origin, was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1991.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2014 at the Department of Painting of the University of Banja Luka (BiH).  She is now in Trieste coming back from the University of Syracuse (USA), where she has just finished her MFA.  The exhibition of the Young European Artist Award is her second solo show.

The performance will start at 7.00 pm and will also be available live streaming at the artist’s facebook page.

The exhibition will last until 31 July 2018 (opening hours: Tuesday-Saturday 17-20).
