The extraordinary adventure of a private cultural club, 'La Cantina', started in Trieste in 1957. The club, born with the intention to promote the diffusion of theatrical knowledge, turned into a place of vivacious debate on the contemporary international theatre production. In its little room some plays appeared on an Italian stage for the first time, like 'Fin de Partie' by Samuel Beckett. In this work the author gives back to Trieste an important part of its cultural life, testified in his preface by Manlio Cecovini as well.
